Switch is our weekly Wednesday night ministry at Life City Church for students in 6-12th grade. Switch is loaded with friends, small groups, and a message geared
toward students and their everyday life. Our goal is to create an experience
where students can meet Christ and grow in their relationship with Him.
What to Expect
Every student who walks through our doors on Wednesday night is greeted by a
group of excited people ready to welcome you to another heart-pumping night
at Switch! If it is your first visit, that’s awesome. You’ll be directed to give us a
little information about yourself. It’s very important for us to know who you are,
who your parents are, who to reach out to in case of emergency, and to let
you know about upcoming events at Switch.
Safety is extremely important to us. Our volunteers are background-checked
and trained to create a safe, secure environment for every student.
Here is what a typical month looks like at Switch:
1st Wednesday: SwitchIn
SwitchIn’s are a great opportunity to check out Switch for the first time. These
nights are 100% geared toward fun and building relational connections
between students and leaders. Whether we are playing a game of dodgeball, 9-Square, or any other fun activity we have planned – you are sure to have a blast.
2nd and 3rd Wednesday: Switch Experience
Our Switch experiences are geared toward sharing the Gospel in a fun and
safe environment. Your experience will consist of playing games, participating in a time of worship, hearing an encouraging message, and unpacking everything in a small group with similar age students.
4th Wednesday: SwitchOut
SwitchOut’s are all about building a bridge from student to leader. We
empower our leaders once a month to take students in their tribe out for a night of fun. It could be monster golf, froyo, or whatever the leader has in mind
for a fun night of connection.
5th Wednesday: Switch Service Project
Whenever we have a month that has a 5th Wednesday, we try our best to
schedule a service project where all students can come together and serve
our community. This is a great way to instill the importance of having a servant’s
heart in all of our students.
What We Value
Small Group Relationships
At the end of every Switch Experience, students break out into small groups called Tribes. Life can be difficult and doubts of all kinds can creep in, particularly
with teenagers. Having friends and adult leaders is critical to understanding
who we are in Christ. Tribes provide space for students and leaders
to talk through tough questions. We think Tribes are important, that’s why we also host monthly SwitchOut experiences so you can go out and have fun your whole Tribe.
What is Swerve? At Life City, Swervers are Switch students who serve. One of
core our values at Life City is that we are spiritual contributors, not spiritual
consumers. The church does not exist for us – we are the church and
exist for the world. It is vital to us that our students understand this from a
young age. In a world that is geared toward consuming, we will lead the way in
contributing. Swervers have multiple areas in which they can serve on a Sunday
morning. If you’d like more information on how to get involved,
contact Pastor Zane.
